What is a Khata?

Khatha of a property is an account (tracked with a unique khatha number) with the municipality or corporation. Through a khatha, a municipality or corporation keeps track of tax payments.
Depending on the legal status of a property, it may be accredited ‘A’ or ‘B’ Khata.
